About Christine S. Wu, Psy.D.

Dr. Wu was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She is Chinese American. She has worked in several counties as well as county facilities in California, including Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Fresno, Merced, Santa Clara, and Sacramento.

While an undergraduate student at UC Santa Barbara, she began her clinical work/behavioral interventions with autistic kids. During her graduate studies in Fresno, she worked in a public middle school and two non-profit agencies. Dr. Wu's pre-doctoral internship was completed at Augustus F. Hawkins Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center in Los Angeles where she worked in inpatient and outpatient with chronically mentally ill adults, adolescents, and children. 

After receiving her doctoral degree, Dr. Wu worked at Merced County Department of Mental Health providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, she worked at a private practice as a psychological assistant providing disability evaluations and individual therapy to adults and children. 

In Santa Clara County, Dr. Wu served as a therapist in public schools, a residential facility, a hospital, and non-profit agencies in San Jose, such as Gardner Family Care Corporation, Inc, Eastfield Ming Quong, and Valley Medical Center. In 2001 to 2005, she was Clinicial Director of Achievekids (San Jose site).

Licensed as a psychologist since 1999, Dr. Wu began her private practice in San Jose in 2000 serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. She moved her practice to the Sacramento area in 2013 and is currently serving adults only via telehealth online. Dr. Wu is Christian for all those who want to see a psychologist with the same faith.

Education

Dr. Christine S. Wu received her Bachelor's Degree from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1992. She went on to complete her Master's Degree (1994) and Doctoral Degree (1996) in Clinical Psychology from California School of Profressional Psychology-Fresno.
